A Stalwart For The Future

We stand at the cusp of a new paradigm in society. We must choose the direction the future will lead. We cannot expect politicians, actors, or athletes to lead the way. It is not their job. It is our, as global citizens. Part of that responsibility to to be open and secure. It is our responsibility to see beyond the obvious of “That’s the way we’ve always done things” to the way we have to get them done.

What do I mean, by that? Linux. Yes, the operating system. It is so much more than a movement, it is a means to an end. It is about freedom. Freedom of choice. Freedom to do what needs to be done. Linux is user contributed. Those that make the most of it also write code for it. It is a win/win situation. Much to the chagrin of those who charge.

The future of the world is not Capitalism. It is a about a free-market economy. It is about individual expression coming uniting into a solidified whole. We are people that need one another. No one is an island. We are all the ocean. We are drops in the ocean. Together we make up the ocean. Take us away from the whole, and we retain elements of that ocean. You and I are one.

Linux offers its user to become more than an observer, but a participant. We bond in expression of making the most out of nothing. That is what magick is, making something out of the imagination, the invisible realm. Note that I use magick with a ‘k’. That denotes true magick and not the prestidigitation of the David Copperfields of the world. This is not illusion, but belief. It is holding onto an ideal so strongly that you make it real.

As a writer I do this daily. I am a novelist by nature and create something out of nothing. It is so ingrained into my essence that I live to write. It is like breathing for me. I believe that Linux is the same thing. It takes a concept, mixes in the talents and skills of millions and creates something that was nothing before.

I invite you to look at any distro and investigate what it can do. Finally you can break away from the chains of corporate servitude and find freedom. Linux will open your mind and free your pocketbook. It will embolden you to be more than an observer and become a participant in life. That is what it is, life. So take charge of it and move forward. Become that person you have always longed to be. Become the real you. Start with a Linux distribution, tomorrow conquer the world. At least the world that you create for yourself. You can do it. You are more than capable. You have this. Go forth and multiply.
